So, why are the Alabama Marine Police parked outside my apartment? The only logical supposition that they're spying on the state's preeminent fish blogger. I didn't know that there were Alabama Marine Police until today.

Just wait until the State Mental Health Police (another real agency with guns and badges) is tail gating you.
Many years ago, it was well known to all fisher-folk on Lake Martin: stop any questionable activities the moment you see that odd-shaped roof boat headed your way. Nothing else on the water looks like it.
