Sony ejects Betamax at long last - Tech News - CNET.com

One of my standard jokes is "X is still in business?" sometimes in the form "Y still makes Z?" Usually I know that they're still around, I'm just poking fun at someone whose business hasn't been doing too well. But I am genuinely stunned to discover that Sony was still making Betamax machines. I'm a little surprised to find that they're still making Betamax tape -- and that will continue.
