Riley denies gambling-money link posited in Democrats' ads
Both sides are lying and both sides are telling the truth. I love politics.
Here's the situation... The Democrats claim that Riley took money from Jack Abramoff and Michael Scanlon. Riley denies taking money from Abramoff, which as far as I can tell is the truth. He certainly took money from Scanlon, who used to be Riley's assistant when Riley was a congressman. It becomes very difficult to see how Scanlon's money isn't dirty and isn't tied to gambling interests.

He did not "certainly" take money from Scanlon. Scanlon contributed to some PACs that later contributed to Riley in 2002 -- and just about everybody else. Seth Hammett got donations from some of those same PACs in 2002. So, do you believe Hammett got money from Scanlon, too? You must.
Well, actually, a congressional investigation revealed that Scanlon's ledger showed a $75,000 expense for "bama race" and "Riley."
Let's put it this way... YOU might dispute that Riley took money from Scanlon, "But the Riley campaign is not disputing the Scanlon portion of the ad."
