Baptists reject missionaries

Why did the Southern Baptist missionary organization reject Don and Esther Gardner? Because their pastor is a woman, that's why. Apparently they're afraid that the Gardners will teach the "natives" to respect women, or possibly even that wives don't have to actually do everything their husband tells them.
