State keeps snakehead fish away

Finally, a local angle! Alabama conservation officers discovered the importation 200 Dreaded Chinese Snakehead Walking Fish back in November. 24 pet store owners faced the oh-so-stiff fine of $50 for selling them; I can't tell if anyone faced penalties for bringing them into the state illegally. Alabama is a pretty river-intensive state, and there's a significant sport-fishing industry, so they were kind of concerned aboutthe possibility of a ravenous predator eating all the bass.
