I don't understand you people!

How is this possible?
Attorney General 2,119 of 3,240 Precincts Reporting
Winner | Candidate | Party | Votes | % of Total
John Tyson | Dem | 143,155 | 53.23%
Larry Darby | Dem | 125,784 | 46.77% |
This is the sort of thing that turns sane people Libertarian. More in the morning.

I think the thing that explains it is that most voters really don't know who Darby is or who Tyson is for that matter. This wasn't exactly a high profile primary. As a result, people who are not really well informed vote for the name that seems somehow most familiar or that "feels" most comfortable. In any case, Darby didn't win so it looks like enough people were well enough informed to prevent him from becoming a huge embarassment to the state Democratic Party. No harm, no foul.
I'm sane, and I might end up voting libertarian. Not that I buy their doctrine hook, line and sinker...it's just that the Republicans and Democrats are run by people who are, quite frankly, contemptible.
The ox's explanation doesn't comfort me much. Find out about the candidates or don't vote in the race!
I myself have VWUed (voted while uninformed). I voted for Eric Crafton in Nashville for city council. Why? Because I was voting, and I was entitled to vote in all the races. The knucklehead went on to become a big proponent of fighting the War on Christmas last year.
No VWUs!
